Amazon & Carnival Explorer Cruise - Day 9: At Sea

Tuesday, February 12

Today is a sea day so we were in no hurry to get up and get going so we spent a pretty lazy morning doing not much of anything.  We did go to the Neptune Lounge and look at the pictures we have taken so far as it is easier sitting at the table there than to view the pictures in our room.

We did our usual lunch in the Lido and then Val was off to her trivia.  Today was the second qualifying round in the slot tournament so I gave it another shot and although I did better it was still not good enough for one of the six spots on the leader board.  Val fell to sixth, which means she will probably be bumped off in the next and final round so she’ll have to compete again.  After my try in the slot tournament I decided to try my luck in the casino, but I failed miserably and was quickly back in the room.  While waiting for Val to get back from trivia, I sorted and organized our photos.  When Val returned we went down to the excursion desk to ask a couple of questions about one of our upcoming excursions and then spent the rest of the afternoon reading.

Tonight was a formal night in the dining room and as we were getting ready to go I suddenly realized we had totally forgotten to go to the port talk they were having today on some of our upcoming ports; I guess we relaxed our brains today as well as our bodies.

After getting into our formal clothes, it was off to evening trivia where we had our usual good time with Roy and Gabriella, and Nancy and Wally.  Dinner was again good and then we were off to the casino where I had a terrible night, it looks like my luck has run out and I am back to my losing ways.  Tomorrow is the first of four port days in a row, and we will be visiting Port-of-Spain, Trinidad.
