October 27th -- We are heading north for our last trip of the year. We will be visiting Washington and Oregon with most of our time spent in Washington. Along the way we'll be visiting Val's niece, nephew, sister-in-law and their families, and one or two of my former work colleagues.
This trip is a bit of a gamble weather-wise as late fall is not the ideal time to visit the Northwest, but we're hoping to be able to travel without the summer crowds and maybe catch some fall color. It's been a dry summer and fall up north and so far all the mountain passes that might normally be closed are still open. We are not averse to some rain as sometimes it is interesting to see things in other ways than just sunshine. We have no set plan for this trip so we can be very flexible and if the weather is bad in one place we can go find better weather.
I should be able to keep this updated very regularly so we'll see you on the road.
