Cruise Day 16

“No one realizes how beautiful it is to travel until he comes home and rests his head on his own familiar pillow.” -- Lin Yutang
We were up before nine today feeling very well rested despite the loss of an hour of sleep last night. After breakfast we went down to the excursion desk with some questions about a ship’s tour we were taking in Egypt. The rest of the morning was spent in our usual fashion of relaxing and reading.
I have said this before and will probably say it again, but this is the most time we have spent in our room on any of the cruises we have taken. Because of Covid or whatever, there just aren’t that many activities we are interested in. Usually there are several lectures every day and other enrichment type of activities, but so far the only talks have been port talks. The port talks are very good, but they are also played back on our cabin television so there is no need to rush down to get a seat when you can watch it at your leisure. There is supposed to be a guest speaker coming on board in Crete tomorrow so maybe things will change. We are still very much enjoying our days at sea; we have a very nice room and have enjoyed catching up on our reading.
It was lunch as usual in the Lido and then I updated the blog for Tunis while Val did some research on an upcoming port. We had to turn in our passports today for some requirement for our upcoming ports in Egypt; it appears that will be a common occurrence on this cruise.
We hadn’t had a chance to look at any of our pictures yet, so we spent the rest of the afternoon going through them. We reviewed all of them up until Tunis and that was as far as we got before it was time for dinner.
Except for a few exceptions, we have had very good dinners on this cruise and tonight was no exception. I did well in the casino again which is always surprising, but Val is in a bit of a slump.
The clocks will be set ahead again tonight, but we won’t be arriving in our next port until 10:00 AM so we will be able to sleep in.
