Day 12
John and
Greg weren’t leaving until mid-morning so most everyone slept in a little
bit. By around 10:30 they were ready to
leave and we all said our goodbyes and they hit the road. It’s always sad to say goodbye as we know it
will probably be another year before we see each other again.
After
lunch, Jack, Steph, Val and I decided to take a drive up into the Big
Horns. Paul, the owner of the ranch, said
that you could get a good view of the ranch from above so we decided to do
that. Our intention was to drive through
the mountains until we hit the road that would take us to Sheridan, but as we started
out I realized I had forgotten to get gas in Sheridan the night before and
there was only a quarter of a tank left so we decided to play it safe and only
go half way. It was a nice drive even
though it was quite short.

After
returning to the house Jack and Val decided to get out their metal detectors
and see what they could find.
Unfortunately, the only thing they could find was very hard ground that
was difficult to dig in, so after a while they gave up.
We ate the leftovers from the week for dinner,
which were very good. We spent the rest
of the evening packing and talking before calling it a day. Tomorrow Jack and Steph head for home and we
travel east to Badlands National Park.

Your Canyon Ranch from the Big Horn Mountains shot could be made into a 1000 piece puzzle and sell. I'd buy it.
